FNIS STATEMENT IN SUPPORT OF STANDING ROCK

First Nations and Indigenous Studies (FNIS) stands in solidarity with the people of Standing Rock, our Hunkpapa Lakota Oyate relatives, and the defence of their treaty-protected lands, waters, ancestors, and descendants in the face of growing state- and corporate-sponsored violence. We join the 90+ Indigenous nations, the 4000+ supporters and allies on the ground and the tens of thousands who have provided emotional, spiritual, financial, and material support to the protectors and their efforts to ensure the health, well-being, and safety of their people, their traditional and ancestral lands, and their other-than-human relations. #NoDAPL
